Brasserie St-Feuillien Saint Feuillien Triple from the Saint-Feuillien brewery has a pale amber colour which discloses a very malty character. It has a delicate, very compact white head. The nose is richly perfumed, with a unique blend of aromatic hops, spices, and typical fermentation odours, very fruity. Refermentation in the bottle gives it a unique aroma due to the yeast. The taste is powerful, and the remarkable length on the palate is due as much to its density as to its long maturation process. Ideal as an aperitif, refreshing in summer and flavoursome in winter, it has established itself as a high-quality beer for connoisseurs. Brasserie St-Feuillien This beer is definitely one of Belgium’s best-known and most esteemed products. This Abbey beer brewed at Le Roeulx, in Belgium, draws its unique character from the spring water used to make it from a source located directly under the Saint-Feuillien Brewery. The malt used to make Saint Feuillien Blond is a Pale Malt. So, at sight we see a golden hue topped with a beautiful foamy head. The nose is easily recognisable and largely dominated by hops although spicy notes are also detectable. Expansive and generous, the attack in the mouth is also dominated by the aromatic and bittering character of the hops that mingle together for a unique flavour. However the finish, accompanied by a sublime bitterness, is relatively dry. As a reminder, this beer was silver medallist at the Australian Beer Awards 2011 in the ‘World’s Best Abbaye Pale Ale’ category. St. Feuillien brewery was founded in 1873 by the Friart family. It now markets the various St. Feuillien (Blonde, Triple, among others), Grand Cru, La Saison and different varieties of Grisette.

St. Feuillien beer has a much older history.

An Irish monk named Feuillien came in the seventh century on the continent to preach the Gospel. He was martyred and beheaded by crossing a forest. At the place of his death, his disciples built a chapel that became the Abbey of Saint Feuillien of Roeulx in 1125. The abbey flourished until the French Revolution, where it was destroyed.
