Abbaye de ChimayThe Chimay Red Cap is a splendid amber beer. Brewed by the Cistercian monks from the Abbey of Scourmont, it is granted the title of trappist beer. That means that the monks themselves produce the beer inside the walls of the abbey. To give a fine anecdote, know that this is the oldest Chimay since the recipe has been elaborated by the Father Theodore during WWII. The result is incredible. Poured in its Chimay Beer Glass, it features an amber color with reddish copper glints and topped by a firm and unctuous head. In the nose, one can also smell the wonderful aromas that are released, such as aromas of fruit which develop during the brewing process and apricot. A trained nose will notice malty notes. The mouth is unexpected, dry flavours of caramel strike and are counterbalanced by the fine final bitterness. You can therefore have confidence in the quality of this beer. As a matter of fact, this beer perfectly marries with the cheeses directly produced in the abbey.Product #: 854stars, based on 12 reviewsRegular price: 2.252.25Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock

Brasserie LefebvreThe Barbãr will take you to the very origins of the brewing art. For centuries, the only sugar known to man was honey, it was therefore largely used by brewers to create what would become the beer that we know today. In respect to this brewing tradition, the Belgian brewery Lefebvre offers a beer brewed with a great deal of honey instead of sugar: the Honey Barbãr. This is how this beer was born. Unfortunately it is not very well-known to the public despite its great tasting qualities. This beer pours an orange colour with copper glints. When poured in its Barbãr Beer Mug, it releases sweet aromas of malt, yeast and honey. The yeast gives a spicy impression to the nose whereas malts and honey provide sweet and fruity sensations. One can taste malty and honey flavours along with hints of yeast featuring spicy tones. The beer is so sweet that one will forget about the alcohol contained inside. When time flies, it is sometimes important to go back to the roots. This beverage, formerly named “The well-earned rest” is a rare Lager giving you the chance to do so. Product #: 1034stars, based on 27 reviewsRegular price: 2.82.8Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock

RodenbachThe Rodenbach brewery has a long and rich brewing history. It was established in 1820 by four brothers. It was Eugène Robenbach, one of their descendants, who brought the secrets of ageing in oak barrels from England. Owned by the Palm Jan Toyes brewery since 1998, they have worked to perpetuate this unique style of Belgian beer. The beer we drink today is still brewed in traditional barrels which are watertight thanks to reeds, some of which are over 150 years old! This blended beer is mainly composed of young beer (¾) and beer aged for two years in a barrel. It has a brown colour with ruby tints and develops a unique aromatic palate. The complex bouquet has an underlying bittersweet nature, blending recognisable touches of fruit and plums with woody, sharp and malty hints. This beer's unique flavours are the result of barrel ageing and the yeast ingredient, the same since the beginning. This beer is an invitation to a taste sensation. Brasserie de l’Abbaye des Rocs This dark ale is brewed in Belgium by the Abbaye des Rocs using no fewer than seven types of malt and three types of hops from Germany, the Czech Republic and of course Belgium, to make a beer of supreme quality. Pouring dark brown, the translucent body glows ruby in the light. The bouquet is complex, consisting of malt, caramel, stone fruit and spices. If you found the nose inviting, you’ll love the taste, as it is a perfect reproduction of the bouquet. Developing throughout the tasting, it offers sweet malts and caramels accompanied by spice notes courtesy of the yeast, as well as a light toasted character. This rich, unctuous beer is persistent on the palate, thanks in part to its pleasing bitterness and lends itself perfectly to meat dishes.Product #: 34784stars, based on 6 reviewsRegular price: 2.52.5Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock

Brasserie Van VivenFounded in 1999 by Willy De Lobel, the brewery Van Viven was initially named “Chapel Viven”. Since then, many years have passed and the reputation of the Belgian brewery has established itself worldwide. They now offer a range of beers from ales, porters to this Viven Imperial IPA. This very nice beer pours an amber colour appearing cloudy because of the yeasts and topped by a creamy and long-lasting white head. It challenges the nose like every other Indian Pale Ale, i.e with distinctive aromas. You’ll smell the classic aromas offered by the American hops Tomahawk and Simcoe, that is to say delicious floral notes along with citrus fruit touches, in particular grapefruit. In the mouth, the entrance finely puts forward the floral character of citrus fruit of the beer. The finish is relatively bitter and features an excellent length. This Belgian beer, true hit in this country, mixes up Flemish traditional brewing technique and use of American hops and the result is a splendid IPA.Product #: 41994stars, based on 4 reviewsRegular price: 3.33.3Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock

Brasserie De Halve Maan Straffe Hendrik Quadruple transports you into the rich, complex elite of Quadruple Beers, intense and flavoursome! After being brewed, Quadruples beers must be kept for a long time in order to refine the fermentation cycle and develop their full range of organoleptic properties. Straffe Hendrik Quadruple is dark brown mahogany in colour with the reddish highlights typical of Quadruple style beers, and is topped by a delicate, astonishingly white head. This amazing head treats the nose to complex and very fruity aromas of melon and red fruits accompanied by the roasted notes of coffee and malt. It's a powerful combination but it doesn't completely mask the hints of liquorice that remind us of the alcohol content of this beer, which does after all have an ABV of 11%. In the mouth, Straffe Hendrik Quadruple reveals itself to be a highly complex beer! Beautiful flavours of red fruits and grapes become immediately apparent, closely followed by the slightly roasted flavours and the liquorice hints of fermented fruits. Whilst the alcohol is certainly noticeable, it never dominates the palate and, overall, gives balance to the beer. Straffe Hendrik Quadruple is a true masterpiece from the excellent De Haalve Man brewery, and a beer that confirms their craftsmanship and their well-merited reputation! Brasserie DubuissonThe Pêche Mel’Bush (Peach) is one of the last additions to the Bush collection from the Belgian brewery Dubuisson. This beer flavoured with peaches has the particularity of featuring a stronger ABV than regular fruit beers. The ABV featured is 8.5%, which makes it closer to a triple beer than a fruit Lambic. This is explained by the kind of fermentation used here, that is to say top-fermentation allowing the beer to reach a much higher ABV than with spontaneous fermentation used to brew “Lambics” like Krieks. The Pêche Mel’Bush (Peach) is a clear beer pouring an orange to amber colour and topped by a rich head. It releases strong aromas of peach that completely hide the presence of hops and most of alcohol. In the mouth, one can notice the influence of malt and the predominant fruit and honey flavours of peach. Light bitterness can be perceived in the aftertaste.Product #: 16774stars, based on 8 reviewsRegular price: 2.82.8Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock

Originally brewed way back In 1986 to celebrate 200th birthday of founder Alexander Rodenbach, this blended beer consists of two-thirds 2-year old Rodenbach and one-third young beer infused with fresh sour cherries. Pouring red-tinted amber, Alexander's bouquet is awash with generous malts and mouth-watering cherry notes. Abbaye de Chimay"Short BBE* date 31/12/2018. After this date, the beer is still perfectly drinkable, but may lose some of its flavour or nutritional value. *Best Before End" The Chimay Gold is the new Trappist beer from the famous Belgian brewery. New is not the proper word to introduce this beer since it exists since the 19th century at least. This beer has long been a privilege for the monks working in the trappist brewery: it was served at their table or offered in compensation for their hard work. Take your chance and taste this elitist beer, and while tasting all its aromas and flavors why not while tasting the cheese of the same name! When it comes to both the size and the ABV, one will notice that both are not high, it is only sold in 33cl bottles and its capacity of production is limited at 1000 hectoliters per year. The Chimay Gold has an ABV of 4.8°, that means that it is even lighter than a basic Pils, but with all the assets featured by a Trappist.Product #: 41674stars, based on 15 reviewsRegular price: 1.541.54Available from: Saveur BièreCondition: New productsin stock
