Is treating yourself such a bad thing? Definitely not as far as we’re concerned! Those with a sweet tooth will love Belle-Vue Kriek, a fruity, Lambic-style beer that is filtered, pasteurised and undergoes spontaneous fermentation. Brewed from a Lambic beer that is at least four months old to which 80 kg of cherries are added, then a maturation period of nine months before it can be consumed. When poured into a glass, it reveals a dark red hue topped by a lingering pinkish head, exuding the heady fragrance of cherries in a woody complex. On the palate, you will find the same sensations as on the nose, with fruity, cherry flavours, accompanied by woody, sweet notes culminating in a dry, refreshing finish. Best drunk at a temperature of around 5 to 6°C, in a balloon glass.
