Wicked Weed has a reputation for brewing some of the world’s best Sour Ales and Brett Saisons. They’re also wizards at barrel-aging Sour Ale with fruit, and wine barrel-aged Medora is bursting with gorgeous sour blackberry and Raspberry.
Deep crimson beneath a puffy pink head, Medora breathes sharp balsamic vinegar with peppery wild yeast and intensely aromatic red berry tones. The wild and woody bouquet also has hints of pencil shavings and oaky old leather that set the tone for the tasting ahead.
The smooth, creamy body is full of vibrant blackberry and raspberry notes, with red wine tones courtesy of the casks, and a woodsy leaf-litter mustiness that together take this sensational sour to a rich, sharp, deliciously fruity finish.
