Masters of Bourbon Barrel-Aged beers, Goose Island turned their hand to wine barrel aging, with some truly remarkable results. Following the success of Sofie, a deliciously crisp Saison aged in Chardonnay, the famous Michigan brewery has launched a string of equally elegant barrel-aged brews, including Lolita, Goose Island’s homage to Belgian Framboise.
Pouring a soft rosé with an inviting powder pink head, Lolita seduces with a funky, yeasty nose full of fresh, fruity raspberry tones and a sinuous white wine quality.
On the tongue, Lolita offers a funky mix of raspberry and funky yeast that evokes raspberry jam on sourdough toast. This elegant tableau is rocked by a brett yeast and a wickedly woody note that follows you to a lingering sour tannin-filled finish.
