Gueuze Boon à l’Ancienne is an ode to pleasure!
A hazy orange colour
Acidity, citrus, grapefruit and oak
On the tongue, citrusy, acidulous flavours with muscat and ginger
Boon Oude Gueze is a Gueuze-type beer that comes straight from Belgium, brewed by the Boon Brewery. The brewery specialises in Lambic beers, and masters their wild yeast to perfection.
This spontaneously fermented beer consists of 90% 18-month old sweet Lambic, 5% young Lambic and, to finish, 5% 3-year-old beer.
It pours a hazy orange colour beneath a lasting white head.
It has a nose that breathes confident notes, with aromas of lemon and grapefruit, as well as woody touches.
In the mouth, there are acidulous flavours that nonetheless remain quite soft, with grapefruit and lemon, ginger and a dash of muscat. Its finish hides a woody dryness with a little sugar.
