In the past, this beer was brewed by SPA under the name of “The Rince Cochon“, it is now brewed by Haacht Brasserie, in Belgium, such as Primus or Tongerlo beers.
The character of this strong lager lies in a pale yellow body that usually evokes light Pils. Yet, it has a 8.5° ABV, making it much different from Pils and other Lagers. It also displays a white medium head featuring a good retention on the glass rim.
It features light malt aromas along with light bitter-sweet hints of lemon. The presence of alcohol is also obvious and does not leave any doubt about the distinctive character of the beer. In the mouth, you’ll taste sweet and full flavours with malt and fruity notes. To conclude, this beer is quite sugary, only the sensation of the alcohol breaks its sweetness.
This is a lager featuring very few hops and that will please amateurs of full but strong beers. Indeed, sweet flavours of malt balance the presence of alcohol in order to offer a harmonious and very pleasant beer. Rince Cochon is a lager from Flanders that skillfully combines a tasty recipe and a commercially “offbeat” product.
This beer must be drunk responsibly due to its high ABV, it releases most of its flavours when poured at 6°. It tastes delicious with a plate of delicateness or as an aperitif, ideally shared with this 5L IPS Keg that can be stored for 30 days and which serve quality draught beer without any dispenser thanks to its integrated CO2 cartridge.
